This vital role involves monitoring solar activity and predicting space weather events to protect space missions and satellite operations. You will use the latest in solar observation technology to analyze solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and other phenomena, providing timely warnings and forecasts to safeguard valuable assets and personnel in space.

Space Weather Forecaster

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from solar telescopes and space-borne observatories to monitor solar activity.
  • Predict solar storms, flares, and other space weather events.
  • Communicate forecasts and warnings to space agencies, satellite operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct research to improve understanding and prediction of space weather phenomena.
  • Collaborate with international space weather forecasting centers.
  • Maintain and upgrade forecasting tools and systems as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Astrophysics, Meteorology, or a related field.
  • Experience in space weather forecasting or related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
